Community guidelines.

Tandem is where your crew hangs and where your team ships — two lives in one app, kept apart on purpose. These guidelines exist so both halves stay places people actually want to be: a raid night that doesn't turn nasty, a desk where an external partner can be invited in without anyone worrying.

They apply everywhere on Tandem: personal spaces and business desks, public rooms and private ones, direct messages, Connect rooms, and the names, avatars, status lines and custom emoji you choose. They apply to you whether you're a member, a moderator, a space owner or a guest.

A space or desk can be stricter than this. None can be looser.

Disagreement is fine. Making Tandem miserable for someone is not.

• No harassment. Don't target someone with repeated unwanted contact, pile-ons, or sustained abuse. Following someone between rooms or spaces to keep at them counts.
• No hate. Nothing that attacks or dehumanises people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, age, sex, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• No threats or incitement. Don't threaten violence, wish harm on people, or encourage anyone else to.
• No glorifying self-harm. Don't encourage suicide, self-injury or eating disorders. If you're struggling, talking about it is welcome — we draw the line at content that promotes it.
• Leave people alone when asked. Block and mute exist; don't work around them with alt accounts.

These get an immediate ban with no warning and no second chance, and where the law requires it we report them to the relevant authorities.

• Nothing sexual involving minors. Any sexual content involving anyone under 18 — images, drawings, text, solicitation, grooming, or sexualising a real child in any way. Zero tolerance, reported every time.
• No terrorism or violent extremism. No promoting, organising for, or representing violent extremist or terrorist organisations.
• No trading in harm. No selling weapons, drugs, stolen data, stolen accounts or counterfeit goods. No human trafficking or exploitation of any kind.
• No real violence as entertainment. Don't post gore or footage of real killings, torture or assaults for shock value.

Tandem is open to people aged 13 and up, so sexually explicit content doesn't belong in public or discoverable spaces, in a space's branding, or in names, avatars, status lines or custom emoji. Don't send it to anyone who hasn't asked for it — an unsolicited explicit DM is harassment. The absolute line above admits no exception of any kind.

• No doxxing. Don't post someone's home address, phone number, workplace, financial details, government documents or private email without their clear permission.
• Private conversations stay private. Don't publish screenshots or recordings of a private room or DM in order to embarrass or expose someone.
• Tell people before you record. Tandem doesn't record calls unless somebody in the call starts a recording. If that's you, say so — and check the law where you are, because some places need everyone's consent.
• No intimate images without consent. Ever, including images of an adult shared to humiliate them.

This one is specific to Tandem, and we take it as seriously as anything on this page.

Every space belongs to exactly one side, and your Personal and Business personas are kept apart in the database — coworkers can't see your gaming handle, and your crew can't see “In a meeting”. People rely on that. Some of them rely on it for their safety.

So don't undo it for someone else. Don't post that a person's two identities are the same person. Don't use what you know on one side to find or contact them on the other. Don't hint at it, don't hold it over anyone, and don't go looking for the connection.

Your own two sides are yours to connect if you want to. Someone else's are not.

• No impersonation. Don't pose as another person, a company, or a Tandem employee. Parody and fan spaces are fine when they're obviously that.
• Don't fake a badge. Don't imitate a verified badge, a ＋ or PRO badge, or a Backer badge in your name, avatar or emoji.
• No ban evasion. If we suspend an account or a space owner removes you, don't come back under a new account.
• One human per account. Don't run accounts in bulk, and don't use extra accounts to inflate numbers, dodge limits or manufacture agreement.

• No spam. No mass unsolicited DMs or invites, no flooding rooms, no posting the same thing across many spaces.
• No scams or phishing. Don't try to get people's passwords, payment details or two-factor codes, and don't run fake giveaways, fake support, or investment and crypto schemes.
• No malicious links or files. No malware, no links designed to deceive about where they go.
• Bots announce themselves. An automated account should be obvious about being one, and needs the space owner's permission to be there.

Backer Credits come with a paid personal plan, and you assign them to the personal spaces you want to see grow. No money changes hands between users, and the point is that what unlocks, unlocks for everyone in the space.

• Don't buy, sell or trade credits, or offer anything in exchange for someone backing your space. Credits have no cash value and aren't transferable — see the Terms of service.
• Don't manufacture rank. No alt accounts, no coordinated backing-and-unbacking, nothing designed to make a space look bigger than it is.
• Don't paywall with it. Don't make backing a condition of being allowed into a space or of being treated decently in one.

No malware, no attempts to break into accounts or infrastructure, no scraping other people's content in bulk, and no working around rate limits, plan limits or access controls. Finding a vulnerability is not a problem — exploiting it is. Report it to report@tandemapp.xyz and we'll work with you.

Owners and moderators set the tone, and we hold you to a bit more than a member.

• Your rules sit on top of ours. Be stricter if you like. You can never permit what these guidelines forbid.
• Deal with what's reported to you. A space that ignores harassment becomes a space that hosts it, and we may act on the space itself.
• Say what the space is. If it's publicly discoverable, its name, description and category should honestly describe it.
• Connect rooms are a door you opened. Invite an outside partner only into a room you're happy for them to read, and remove their access when the work is done.
• Don't abuse admin powers. Reading a desk's rooms to snoop on someone's personal life, or using what you find there against them, is a breach.

We weigh how serious it was, whether it looked deliberate, whether anyone was hurt, and what has happened on the account before. Depending on that we may:

• remove the content and tell you why;
• limit a feature for a while — posting, DMs, invites, custom emoji;
• remove you from a space, or remove a space's discoverability;
• suspend the account temporarily;
• close the account, or remove the space entirely.

Most first-time, low-harm breaches get a warning and the content removed. The lines in The absolute lines skip the ladder entirely.

Action on one side of your account doesn't automatically touch the other — but conduct serious enough to lose the account loses both.

Use the report control on the message, space or person. That sends us the report and the content it refers to, which is what lets us act. For anything urgent — a threat, a child at risk — email report@tandemapp.xyz as well, and contact your local emergency services if someone is in immediate danger.

What happens next

• A person reviews it. Reports are handled by our staffed enforcement pipeline.
• We look at the context, not just the reported message.
• We tell the reporter that it was actioned or not. We don't share the details of what happened to someone else's account.
• Reporting in bad faith — mass-reporting someone you dislike — is itself a breach.

We get things wrong sometimes. If we've actioned your account or your space and you think it was a mistake, email appeals@tandemapp.xyz with your account email and what happened. Someone who wasn't involved in the original decision reviews it. Appeals against a ban for one of the absolute lines are reviewed, but very rarely overturned.

Tandem will grow and so will this page. We'll update the date at the top when it changes, and we'll say so in the app when a change is significant rather than a clarification.
